massage therapy
Massage is a great tool for stress relief, headache care and prevention, chronic pain, assisting injury healing, and a wonderful way to take some time for yourself. We take pride in being able to work with each patient to create the style massage they are looking for. We are able to give as deep or as light a massage as needed and can even incorporate energy work.
Together with Dr. Bach’s chiropractic care, massage is a great option to help achieve optimum results. Receiving a massage before an adjustment assists Dr. Bach by removing muscular pull that tends to keep the skeletal system in improper alignment. This makes the adjustment easier and more comfortable and the treatment more effective.
We offer sixty minute, ninety minute, and two hour sessions to allow for plenty of time to address problem areas. Massage therapy is always available with or without chiropractic care.
Our massage therapist, Devon, graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy in 2004. She has worked in a variety of locations from indulgent spas to Massage Studios, and finds herself most comfortable in the Medical massage setting. It’s her goal to work with each patient to create a massage that addresses their individual needs. She has mastered many modalities and incorporates them in every massage she does. She looks forward to meeting and working on you.

Therapeutic massage is very effective for chronic tension. Different styles are incorporated to affect specific muscle groups. Deep tissue is applied to sink into muscles reaching knots that form within muscle layers. Muscle lengthening and toxin release from more muscle layers allow for better circulation and increased range of motion. Therapeutic massage helps alleviate tension headaches, neck and shoulder pain, low back issues, and many other conditions. There are a few contraindications for this massage including osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes.

Swedish massage is a relaxing, stress relieving full body massage meant to melt all your tension away. Medium to light pressure works tense muscles and helps you feel balanced and rejuvenated from head to toe. It is a great technique for older patients with muscle soreness because of the gentle fluid rhythm. There are very few contraindications that would prevent a patient from being able to receive this modality.

Prenatal Massage is a great option for women who are expecting. As your body is changing, different aches and pains can cause your nine months to be difficult. In the beginning stages of pregnancy, the massage is given in normal positioning. As you tummy grows, laying face down becomes more challenging and you will be bolstered on your side with pillows supporting all the right places. Each massage is tailored to the individual to make her comfortable and address all of her problem areas. During this time of your life, it’s even more important that you take good care of yourself.

Cranial Sacral Therapy focuses on the bones of the head, spinal column, sacrum, and their relationship to one another. Using gentle hand holds, the therapist directs energy to release any restrictions and/or compression in your cranial rhythm which can contribute to headaches, chronic pain (especially in neck and back) jaw dysfunction, sinus constriction, and some auditory problems. There are no contraindications for this technique it does not increase circulation, and is very subtle and unobtrusive. Cranial Sacral Therapy can be done alone or incorporated with other bodywork.

Hot Stone massages have some great benefits besides just the added relaxation. The heat from the stones allows for deep muscle release breaking up toxins, increasing circulation, and softening joint tissues which helps to increase flexibility. Clients that have sunburns, skin rashes, high blood pressure, deep vein thrombosis, or are pregnant should not receive hot stone massage. Clients with diabetes or osteoporosis should speak with their doctor to make sure they are healthy enough for this modality.

Reflexology is a modality that works solely your hands and feet. It is based on the theory that our organs, spine, and muscles are linked by points located on our hands and feet. By massaging these points you can then have relief in the body as a whole. It is very relaxing and addresses important and highly used areas of our body that are often neglected. There are also many small muscles in both our hands and feet that are constantly engaged and can get tense like any other muscle. Reflexology can be done alone or incorporated with other modalities.
